Positive psychology coaching: rationale, risks, and opportunities

Theme: Related Fields

Area: Coaching

Session on 3 June 2020 09:30 UTC - View on timetable

Session

Both coaching psychology (CP) and positive psychology (PP) have been flourishing since the beginning of this century. Each field has been developing its practices, growing the evidence base and exploring the best strategies for using the new learning to make positive contributions to individual, group, organisational and societal success and wellbeing. In this session, Christian will consider one of the ways that the two fields have been integrated: the practice of Positive Psychology Coaching (PPC). After considering the rationale for integrating CP and PP, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the potential benefits and opportunities that emerge from the integration. The session will conclude with some points of caution and immediately applicable ideas for practitioners.
